Job Elements
·The fundamental objective for the Job Holder is to improve quality further. This includes: -
·Driving Continuous Improvement to a higher level through day-to-day involvement with the workforce at all levels, educating and ensuring that standards and maintained and improved.
·Conducting regular product and process audits and creating action plans to improve compliance, control, performance and quality levels.
·Building a Total Quality Culture by examining all activity and educating and coaching people at all levels about the importance of building quality into every aspect of their work.
·Support the Quality Manager in devising and implementing a Total Quality Strategy
·Work with Operational Managers to review performance and methods to identify and correct weaknesses and failures. Identify business improvement opportunities.
·Work closely with the teams involved in NPI to build quality into assembly processes and test from the onset. Conduct PFMEA, and support Run-At-Rate, First-off builds and PPAP submissions.
·Lead investigations into quality and process failures, identifying root causes and generating sustained corrective actions and compiling reports and 8D Reports as required
·Work closely with the Customer Support Manager to manage a reduction of customer complaints and issues and feed back into relevant departments to ensure corrective action is taken.
·Participate in problem solving events, 5S and Kaizen events
The ideal candidate will have:
·At least 5 years’ experience working as a Quality Engineer in a similar environment.
·We will be looking for the candidate to demonstrate their recent successes and their capacity to generate ideas for change.
·Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline with specific training undertaken to support the requirements of the position.
·Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
·Confident and personable, with excellent communication skills.
·This is a highly interactive hands-on role.
