Job Elements
- Leading a small team to ensure that the correct materials are purchased at the correct price to ensure that production schedules can be achieved to meet customer requirements.
- Working in cross functional teams to ensure that NPIs are introduced on time.
- Monitoring supplier performance and working with them to make improvements.
- Working with and negotiating with suppliers to ensure that cost down targets are met.
- Driving cost down projects internally and externally to ensure that long term targets are met.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience of leading a team to deliver a procurement function that reaches OTIF targets whilst delivering cost savings.
- Experience with the manufacturing sector gained around direct materials ideally within a regulated industry.
- Experience of working with a global supply chain
- Ideally degree level education in a relevant subject and/or CIPS qualification.
- MRP experience essential
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communications skills both written and oral
- Computer literate with Microsoft suite
