·A seasoned, creative engineering professional who participates in all aspects of product lifecycle including product design, transition to production, production and customer use of our products ensuring best manufacturing, test, and serviceability practices are carried out.
·Plays a key role in product development process managing the transition from development to manufacturing including designing and developing electro-mechanical and mechanical components, and test tools at module and system levels.
·Provides leadership in daily production and technical support activities, focusing on technical problem resolution and continuous improvement of product and process.
·Works in a team based project environment interacting with Hardware, Software and Firmware engineers and).
·Delivering VA/VE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) and Sustain Engineering projects, on-time and to-cost
·Defining and performing V&V (Verification and Validation) activities as part of design change qualification and implementation into Manufacturing
·Participates in product design, representing manufacturability, testability, reliability and serviceability aspects of our product.
·Develops “proof of principle” systems and conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
·Writes ECN's (Engineering Change Note) to document and communicate engineering changes throughout the organization, and coordinates implementation throughout manufacturing operations.
·Supports the development, improvement and/or evaluation of manufacturing methods, processes and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential: -
·Min of bachelor's degree (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering (Masters desirable)
·Extensive (ideally 10 to 15 years) related knowledge and experience in the development and commercialisation of complex products
·Hands on engineer with good communication (written and oral) skills and likes to solve problems and work issues on the production floor as well as in the engineering lab
·Demonstrated understanding of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems; their control and manufacture
·Positive attitude, high energy, project management and troubleshooting skills
·Demonstrated proficiency in Solidworks (or similar 3D CAD systems)
·Knowledge/experience in rapid prototyping
·Commitment to continuous improvement principles (LEAN)
