Job Elements
To assist in the day-to-day smooth running of the laboratory through the analysis of samples and entry of results into the LIMS system, as directed by the laboratory manager.
To undertake advanced analytical work within the company to achieve prompt provision of high-quality scientific services within either the Food and Agriculture or Consumer Safety and Environmental Laboratory.
Undertake analysis, scrutinise/review results, report findings and appropriate scientific and technical advice.
Undertake such investigative analysis to provide adequate evidential support for clients’ purposes.
Undertake analytical and investigative work as required for the development of analytical methods and provide an assessment of their suitability for use in the Division.
To participation in collaborative trials, surveys, performance assessment, routine work and to keep abreast of and advise on relevant analytical, equipment and systems developments.
The ideal candidate will have:
HND/degree level education in a relevant scientific subject
Ideally 5 year’s post-graduation day-to-day experience in food analysis in commercial laboratory:
Experienced with ELISA, HPLC, Titrimetry, Gravimetry and Wet chemistry relating to food & water analysis
Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in reports
Proficiency in Word, Excel and LIMS systems
