Job Elements
To assist in the day-to-day smooth running of the laboratory through the preparation/extraction/analysis of samples and entry of results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
To undertake analytical work within the company to achieve prompt provision of high-quality scientific services within the Food and Agriculture Laboratory.
Undertake analysis, scrutinise/review results, report findings and appropriate scientific and technical advice.
Undertake such investigative analysis to provide adequate evidential support for clients’ purposes.
Undertake analytical and investigative work as required for the development of analytical methods and provide an assessment of their suitability for use.
Undertake administrative duties as assigned for the day-to-day functioning of the laboratory,
The ideal candidate will have:
We are looking for a candidate with great attention to detail and a high level of integrity, reliability and maturity.
Qualified with a HND (or equivalent) in chemistry or related subject.
2 years practical experience in a commercial laboratory with the ability and desire to undertake training in food and agriculture analytical methods.
Day-to-day food and agriculture testing experience
Instrumentation techniques of analysis, e.g. HPLC, GC, ICP, UV-vis, q-PCR, ELISA (allergens)
Titrimetry, gravimetry and wet chemistry.
